Grant Norgaard, Superintendent
Mr. Norgaard is starting his 15th year in the District, his 19th year as a superintendent, and his 29th year as a professional educator. Mr. Norgaard has a Bachelors of Science (BS) in Elementary Education from UNL, a Masters Degree in Educational Administration (M.Ed.) from Wayne State College, and a Specialist's Degree in Educational Administration (Ed.S.) from UNL.
During his time in McCook, the District and its teachers have earned many academic accolades in the state for high student achievement including consecutive years of continuous growth in the area of reading. The District was recognized in 2018 by NRCSA for growth in the area of mathematics. The District boasts of two buildings that are classified as "Excellent" and two as "Great" by the Nebraska Department of Education. The District also received national recognition when McCook Elementary school was honored in 2016 with the the prestigious National Blue Ribbon award for academic excellence by the Federal Department of Education. In the Spring of 2021, Mr. Norgaard was honored with the NRCSA Outstanding Superintendent Award at the state conference in Kearney.
Mr. Norgaard has also presented at the state and national level on professional learning communities, academic excellence for all, and school change.
